SUMMARY

The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for system analysis, design, installing, configuring, performing monitoring, day to day administration, troubleshooting and supporting client, servers and network equipment necessary to meet business demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting servers running Microsoft Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 server operating systems.

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of thin clients, laptops and desktop computers running Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8 Professional desktop operating systems.

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Citrix, Microsoft or VMWare virtual environments.

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Exchange 2013.

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server.

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco networking and wireless hardware.

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office 2013.

Managing backups using Symantec Backup Exec, CA ArcServe or other enterprise backup solutions.

Assisting Level 1 help desk staff with priority issues and help desk tickets as necessary.

Assist with developing and/or revising written operating procedures.

Maintain proper records of hardware, software and network configurations using Microsoft Visio.

Provide daily and weekly updates regarding outstanding issues and work progress

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Systems Administrator may be asked to assist in the supervision of the help desk staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in an IT related curriculum or a minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

It is preferred that the IT Systems Administrator be certified in the following:

MCSA / MCSE / MCITP Windows 2008
VMware VCP
Cisco (CCNA or above)

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Processes and procedures in the Hazardous Material Safety Program (Right to Know) are strictly followed. You will ensure any Hazardous Material transferred from its original or larger sized container to a smaller container will have the appropriate Hazardous MAterial Information System (HMIS) identification label affixed to it.
